1. Scope and summary
This Privacy Policy applies to the MaintTag app for iPhone and iPad and to this support and legal website. MaintTag is provided by Alex Omanski. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Alex Omanski.
MaintTag does not send your maintenance records to a server run by the publisher. The app does not show ads or include third-party tools that measure how you use it.
The short version
Your records are kept on your device and can also be updated through your private iCloud storage when it is available. Apple handles App Store purchases. You choose when to add a photo, save a copy of your records, or delete them.
2. Information MaintTag handles

3. Storage and processing
On your device
MaintTag uses SwiftData to save records on your device. Photos you choose are resized and saved as JPEG files. If neither the iCloud-backed store nor the persistent local store can be opened, MaintTag stops before opening the workspace and does not accept new changes; it does not replace your records with a writable temporary workspace.
Private iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is available, SwiftData uses the private CloudKit database linked to your Apple Account to update records across your devices. MaintTag is designed for one user; it does not provide a multi-user workspace or cross-user sharing. Apple handles that information as part of iCloud. The publisher does not keep a separate copy on its own server or in a public CloudKit database. Updates may be delayed or unavailable.
Camera, QR codes, and photos
MaintTag reads the camera image on your device to find QR codes and does not record it. A scanned code is used to find a matching equipment record. If the code is unknown, it is saved only when you choose to create a new record. Apple’s photo picker shares only the photos you select.
Local notifications
If you allow notifications, MaintTag schedules maintenance reminders with iOS or iPadOS. Notification text can include an equipment name and schedule name. You can change notification access in system Settings and remove schedules in the app.
Exports
When you save a copy, MaintTag creates the JSON, CSV, PDF, image, or ZIP file you chose and opens Apple’s share menu. Temporary files made by MaintTag are removed during normal cleanup. A copy you save or share may remain at its destination even after you delete the original record from MaintTag.
Backup import
When you choose a MaintTag JSON backup, the app reads and validates that file on your device. MaintTag does not upload it to a server run by the publisher. If you confirm a restore, its records are written to local app storage and may then be handled by Apple through your private CloudKit database when iCloud synchronization is available. A replacement restore can update or delete existing records.
Voluntary product-feedback email
The optional team-feature research form keeps your selections only in the open form. It does not save them to MaintTag records, analytics, or a research server. When you choose Prepare feedback email, MaintTag gives your mail app an editable draft addressed to app@omanski.co.il. Your mail app may save that draft under its own settings. Nothing is sent by MaintTag automatically. If you choose to send the message, the publisher receives its contents and the sending address shown by your email provider. Do not include confidential equipment details or personal information that is not needed.
4. Services that receive information
- Apple iCloud and CloudKit
- Receives app records only when private iCloud synchronization is available and enabled for your device and Apple Account.
- Apple StoreKit and App Store
- Shows products, checks purchases, restores access, and handles subscriptions, billing, and refunds.
- Your chosen share destination
- Receives a saved file only when you choose to share it with a person, app, or storage service.
- Your mail app and email provider
- Receive the editable product-feedback draft after you choose to prepare it and may save it under their own settings.
- MaintTag support mailbox
- Receives the sending address and message only if you choose to send the email.
- Cloudflare Pages
- Hosts this website and may handle your IP address, request details, security signals, and access logs to deliver and protect the site.
Each service handles information under its own terms and privacy policy. MaintTag does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
5. This website
This website has no ads, visitor-counting tools, forms, or tracking pixels, and it does not set its own cookies. Cloudflare may use tools needed to deliver and protect the site. If you follow a link to another website, that website’s privacy rules apply.
6. Retention and deletion
- App records remain until you delete them, delete the workspace, or remove the app and applicable iCloud data.
- Private iCloud copies and deletion propagation are managed through Apple’s services and may not update immediately on every device.
- Local notifications remain until delivered, removed because a schedule changed, or cleared through the app or system settings.
- StoreKit transaction history is retained by Apple under Apple’s policies.
- Product-feedback emails may be retained only as needed to review demand, plan possible features, respond, prevent abuse, and meet administrative or legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a feedback message, subject to applicable requirements.
- Website security and delivery logs may be retained by Cloudflare and the publisher according to the final hosting configuration.
7. Your controls
- Access and portability: view records in MaintTag and use Settings → Export all data.
- Restore: with full access, review and restore a complete MaintTag JSON backup in add-missing or replacement mode.
- Correction: with full access, edit equipment, schedules, service entries, and meter readings in the app.
- Deletion: with full access, delete individual records. Settings → Reset → Delete all data remains available when access is read-only.
- Permissions: control camera and notification access in iOS or iPadOS Settings.
- iCloud: manage iCloud access and stored app data through your Apple Account and device settings.
- Product feedback: edit or discard the prepared email before sending it. If you sent feedback, contact us to request deletion of the received message where applicable.
The publisher cannot see or retrieve records that remain on your device or in your private iCloud storage.
8. Security
MaintTag uses Apple’s device security, private CloudKit storage, StoreKit purchase checks, and Apple’s photo picker. No storage or transfer method is completely secure. Protect your device and Apple Account, check who receives a saved file, and avoid adding sensitive details that are not needed.
9. Children’s privacy
MaintTag is a maintenance record tool and is not made for children. A parent or guardian should supervise any use by a minor.
10. U.S. privacy disclosures
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. MaintTag does not offer rewards in exchange for personal information. You can view, change, save, and delete app records on your device. For a privacy question or a request under a privacy law that applies to you, email app@omanski.co.il. We may need enough information to understand the request, but we cannot see or retrieve records that remain on your device or in your private iCloud storage.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in MaintTag, applicable services, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will identify the latest version. Material changes should be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel before they take effect.
