Start here
- Confirm that iOS or iPadOS and MaintTag are up to date.
- Open MaintTag → Settings → Storage and sync to see whether the app is using its private iCloud database, local-only storage, or a temporary session.
- Before deleting the app or troubleshooting storage, choose Export all data and save the export somewhere you control.
- Restart MaintTag and the device, then reproduce the issue once more.
iCloud and offline records
Changes have not appeared on another device
MaintTag works locally and iCloud synchronization is eventually consistent. Keep both devices online, signed in to the intended Apple Account, and permitted to use iCloud Drive. Open MaintTag on each device and allow time for changes to arrive. The app does not claim that a record has reached another device until Apple completes synchronization.
MaintTag says “Local only”
The app falls back to local storage if its CloudKit container cannot be opened. Your records remain available on that device, but they do not synchronize while local-only mode is active. Check the device’s iCloud status and available storage before trying again.
MaintTag says “Temporary session”
Persistent storage could not be opened. Export important changes immediately. Data in a temporary session can be lost when the app closes.
QR scanner and photos
The camera is unavailable or permission was denied
Open the device’s Settings app and allow camera access for MaintTag. You can always enter the short code printed below a MaintTag QR label instead. MaintTag requests camera access only when you choose to scan.
Add a photo without granting full library access
MaintTag uses Apple’s system photo picker. Choose only the images you want to attach; the app does not request broad access to your photo library.
Maintenance reminders
MaintTag schedules local notifications for date-based maintenance rules after you allow notifications. Meter-based rules do not produce scheduled date notifications. If reminders are missing:
- Confirm that the rule is enabled and has a future due date.
- Open MaintTag → Settings → Notifications and verify authorization.
- Review Focus modes and notification settings in iOS or iPadOS.
MaintTag Pro purchases
Restore a purchase
Open MaintTag → Settings → MaintTag Pro → Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. MaintTag never grants Pro access from an unverified App Store transaction.
Manage or cancel a subscription
Use Manage subscription in MaintTag Settings when an active subscription is detected, or manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Apple handles billing, cancellation, and refund requests.

Exports and deletion
Export your records
MaintTag can create user-initiated JSON, CSV, PDF, and QR-label exports depending on the feature and entitlement. Exported files may contain equipment details, serial numbers, costs, notes, and attachments. Review the destination before sharing.
Delete records
Individual equipment, service records, meter readings, schedules, and attachments can be deleted in the app. To remove the entire workspace, open Settings → Danger zone → Delete all data. Deletion is permanent in the app and can take time to propagate through iCloud.
What to prepare for a support request
When emailing app@omanski.co.il, include:
- MaintTag version and build number from Settings.
- Device model and iOS or iPadOS version.
- The storage mode shown in MaintTag Settings.
- Clear steps to reproduce and the exact error text.
Do not send full exports, equipment serial numbers, asset codes, provider names, purchase receipts, or private photos unless support specifically asks for the minimum information needed through an approved channel.
Safety notice
MaintTag is a record and reminder tool. It does not replace manufacturer instructions, inspections, lockout/tagout procedures, professional judgment, licensing requirements, or regulatory compliance.
